social business for urban development
Three Sisters Care has been awarded our first public grant to deliver health related work. The Tower Hamlets Mayor’s Community Chest has contracted Three Sisters Care to run a series of health and wellbeing talks across Tower Hamlets, including encouraging people (especially women) to enter the social care workforce. We are delighted with this responsibility as we’ve been saying for a long time now that a Bangladeshi woman led organisation is extremely well placed to reach Muslim women who rarely interface with mainstream health information. We’ll be talking especially about dementia; how to recognise it, how to get it diagnosed and how to care for a relative with dementia. To this end, I myself am attending one of the Dementia Champions training days on Monday 19th August, organised by Dementia Friends.
If you are interested in having us give a Health and Wellbeing Talk to your women’s group, please call us on 020 7790 6057 and ask for me, Jobeda or Rahena.
Below is a picture of a session we organised back in June to get local women jobseekers into social care training with Peter Bedford Housing. It was a huge success and now the women have graduated with a Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
